Compression set to none but backup compressed...

Backup Jobs: Compression set to none, but backups still compress. See compression statistics below in media properties.
Tape Device Properties show tape unit is not enabled for compression.

Is there some secret place software sets compression other than the above?

Compression is set to "none."
For all jobs, compression is set to "none."

All jobs use compression. See original post.

This is most frustrating...there must be someplace to shut off compression. A secret place?

What telephone number would I use to call technical support?

Hello robert,
The compression is probabely done by the tape drive, please check the settings on the device.Harware compression is always done by the device it is configurable in Backup exec but that again depends on the tape drive.
