Hello,

some one had an idea? I got these errors every day. From 20 Windows Servers we Backup with BackupExec 22.  4 of them produce this notification in the Windows event display at the Backup Exec Server.

The Message says:

Or in english:

DCOM was unable to communicate with computer ******  using any of the configured protocols. Requested during activation of CLSID {8BC3F05E-D86B-11D0-A075-00C04FB68820} from PID 2850 (C:\Program Files\Veritas\Backup Exec\BackupExecManagementService.exe).

The Backup of theses 4 Server seems to be OK. SO wtf ?

Thanks a lot from Berlin - GER

If you still seeing these alerts could you try the following on one or two of these servers and see if that fixes the issue as it could be related to a WMI communication issue

  • Locate the hosts file on the Backup Exec server. In the hosts file place the IP address and the FQDN of your remote servers.
  • Afterwards locate the hosts file on your remote servers and add the IP address of the Backup Exec server in those files.
