Has anyone used DS216+ as a backup media  with BackupExec2012 in Windows2008?

I wanted to confirm that DS216+ is compatible?

There are a lot of users who has reported problems using disks of 4K sector size with Win 2008.  If you do want to use this NAS, reformat it to 512e sector size.

I am assuming that you mean the new Synology DS216+?

A lot of the older Synology units are on the HCL and the DS216+ would be probably running the same DiskStation Manager software version, so it should work fine.  Disk targets are not required to be listed on the HCL.  You can run B2Dtest.exe to test your own unit & environment.

My main concern is backing up Sytem State of 2008 and Exchange GRT to a 4K NAS drive because Windows 2008 only uses 512 byte sector.

I know Windows 2008/BackupExec has issues backing up to 4K drives.

Wondering if anyone is using a DS216 with Backup Exec2012 in Windows2008?
