Could someone give me input on the following files and what their thoughts on excluding them are? Also does anyone have an extensive list of file exclusions they could share with me they recommend?

Computer system information changes?

C:\WINDOWS\PCHealth\HelpCtr\DataColl\CollectedData_4910.xml

Sharepoint statistic information

C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\web server extensions\12\LOG

IIS Configuration Changes

C:\WINDOWS\system32\inetsrv\History\MetaBase_0000008050_0000000000.xml

Hi,

If you turn on AOFO they should be backed up. That said, they don't appear to be too mission-critical so I'd leave them off to be honest.

My list of files I block are: *.inf (McAfee LOVES blocking access to them which = failed backups); *.mp3, *.avi. *.mov; *.mpg; *.wav; *.m4a; *.flac; *.vob and *.wma. This takes care of any users storing illegal files on a company server from our side of things!

Thanks!

Why do you want to exclude these files?  Unless you have a very good reason it is better ot backup everything, rather than WISHING that you have backed them up.  Your backup is your last line of defence against a total failure, so it is better to backup everything.
