Database mainenance failure

Veritas Backup 9.1, Windows Server 2003

When we try to run the daily database maintenance routine we get the following error message / alert:

Maintenance has failed: 11, Check database failed.

Any idea what causes this (and how to fix it?)

Hi,

This usually occurs when database maintenance timing clashes with the backups.If backups are running simultaneously at the time when database maintenance runs,then you get such an error.

We suggest you to change the timings of database maintenance such that it does not run when backups are running.

Unfortunately in this case that's not the problem. My backups run each night, and the database maintenance is running at noon each day.

I did get the following additional errors today along with the normal database maintenance error:

17066 :
SQL Server Assertion: File: , line=1378
Failed Assertion = 'm_offBeginVar < m_SizeRec'.
and
18052 :
Error: 3624, Severity: 20, State: 1.

This may seem to be a sign of corruption. We suggest you to run a repair on Backup Exec database.
