Deduplication Job Starts With High Job Rate Then Slows After 15GB

I have a deduplication store on my media server's lcoal drive.  I'm backing up data over the network from our data server to the dedupe store on the media server.  Every time I start the job I will get a job rate that climbs to to approx. 1800MB/Min.  After about 15GB of data has been backed up the job rate starts to slow down a 5MB/Min at a time until the job is sat as low as 200MB/Min and I am forced to cancel.

I've tried completely erasing the dedupe store and starting from step 1 but this does not help.  Client side dedupe results in a faster job rate at the start of the job and, although it begins a little later than 15GB, the job rate still declines..  Are there any other settings to check or best practises to follow?

Thanks,

Thanks for the links.  I've mae sure I follow the best practice guidelines and tried the hotifxes.  I'm running Windows 2008 R2 Standard and it says the hotfixes don't apply to my installation when I try to run them.

Instead I tried the registry change as well as tried put a policy in place that excludes anti-virus on my dedupe store.

I still get the same results.  Amazing performance that gets better and better but after 15 mins or so (15GB of data backed up to the store) the rate just starts to drop at 10MB/Min every few seconds until I get down to 250MB/Min and below.  I once used DeDupe on this server a while back and had much better results.  I'm wondering if there are any other best practices around job setup.

Thanks,
