Deduplication Storage Logon Account accidentally deleted

Hi all,

the versione is Backup Exec 2012 and as written in the title, the Deduplication Storage Logon Account was accidentally deleted from the logon account manager.

Once the services has been restarted, the deduplication storage goes offline.

I recreate the same user with the same password in the  logon account manager and update it with the spauser.exe utility, but nothing change.

If i check it with the troubleshoot function, it returns the following error:

"unable to authenticate with the storage device.ensure that the logon account that is required to access the device has the correct credentials"

In the properties of the deduplication storage, the item "logon account" is grey and i cannot add/edit it.

How can i associate the user created with the deduplication storage?

Thanks for your replies

When you go into the details of the dedupe folder, are you able to see the account for dedupe associated with that. If yes restart device and media service and see if the dedupe comes online. (ensure the password is correct for the account used). One way to find out the password is correct is by trying to reset the password of that account in Backup Exec. spauser.exe -c -u <username> (refer : http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH125339 )
