Reviewing my backup jobs and I have individual backup files that are corrupt on the tape media. I would like to erase only these files. Is there a way to delete these individual files manually? Using version Backup Exec 2010 R3. Thanks in advance.
Hello, There isnt a way to directly delete specific files or folders from a tape. You can completely erase the tape and modify the selection list to run the backup again or you can try to restore the tape to disk and then run another backup to tape. Backup Exec will automatically Exclude the corrupt files. See http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=HOWTO23118
...the only way to potentially do this is to restore the data to disk, delete the files, and then back it up again...long-winded, and probably not worth the effort.
