Disaster Recovery - Restoring MSDE Databases

We have had to replace one of our servers. I have successfully used a recent backup of the original server to restore almost everything but have had problems restoring the MSDE databases.

We have three MSDE instances running, two are directly related to Backup Exec (BKUPEXEC and BKUPEXECDLO ) and the third is a Software and Hardware inventory tool called PC-Duo Enterprise (PCDE). We also have the Backup Exec SQL Agent running.

When I try to restore the databases I get the following error:-

e000848c - Unable to attach to a resource. Make sure that all selected resources exist and are online, and then try again.

I am 99% certain that I am using the correct logon details and have tried redirecting the databases but nothing I try has worked.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

"Unable to attach" error is usually related to login credentials issue.

-Check that the user account with which you are trying to redirect restore is a member of Domain admin group and local administrators group for the server to which the restore is being made.

-- Do you have create the databases with the same name on the other server?
