Hi
I have installed backupexec15 on the newly installed windows2008r2 server.
When backupjob starts it shows the status "Discovering Resources" and kept running for long hours.
Does this runs everytime when a backup is scheduled?
Does it looking for any kind of resources or permission set which is not accessible?
Please check the attached image and help in fixing the problem.
Thanks
Venky

Does the Tape Library show up as online in the Storage tab ?
What drivers are being used for the tape drive and the changer ?
Additionally, when you open the backup selections of this job, is there any error ?

yes the tape library is up and shows online.
First time job went successfull with exception errors
C: was not found in the previous instance of this job. It will be fully protected in this job.
Tape Library is PowervalutTL2000 and drivers and drivers are loaded properly.

Check if the error reoccurs or not on subsequent runs.
The exception message is fine. It just says C:\ wasn't available in the previous run, but it has been backed up now.

Is the Backup Exec Remote Agent service running on this system ? If yes, is it using the Local System Account ?
Is NDMP port 10000 available for use by the Remote Agent ?
If there is any AV, exclude it from scanning the beremote.exe process.
