Duplicate existing backup set to tape

we had to duplicate a weekend backupset of 2 lto6 tapes. We configured direct copy to tape and notification. The job were successful, but we had to run an additional Inventory&Catatlog on the the copied tapes to see the result. What made things more fascinating, in the jogblog we found direct copy = disabled and recieved no notification.

The normal weekend job sent his notification, the configuration on firewall, network, antivirus etc, was not changed for this specific dup-job.

Can someone put some light on this behaviour, or give some hints where to look into more details?

The DirectCopy to tape is typically used for duplicating from a virtual tape library directly to a physical tape device. Both the source device and the destination device must be NDMP enabled. If the devices are not NDMP enabled then Backup Exec performs a regulat duplicate backup job.

they were not NDMP enabled!! This make sense. Still missing the "illumination" for the missing notification-email.
