EndJob() criticalVolumeError - 0xe00084f8

Backup fails with Final error: 0xe00084f8 - The network connection to the Backup Exec Remote Agent has been lost. Check for network errors. On bengine always on log bottom this is discovered "EndJob() criticalVolumeError - 0xe00084f8".

Based on previous failed jobs, it keeps failing on different drives, D: C: System State.. 

Besides low space, what other possible errors can be related to this?

Happened recently? Please check the event log if BE remote agent stopped or restarted.

I can think of below reasons and possible solutions:

  • Low memory or low storage on remote server. -- Reduce the system load or improve the server configuration.
  • Flecky network connections causing packet drops.
  • Anti-virus blocking the connections opened for long time. -- For trial, stop anti-virus and do the backup.
  • Backup Exec Remote Agent is not responding - Good to check the events on remote server

You can also think of splitting the single job in to multiple jobs (i.e. one job - one resource) to reduce the system load.
