Error 1304: error writing to file, install failed

hello, iam installing backupExec 12.5 and i have the error 1304 when installing the Microsoft viewer which aborts the install process
i have checked all permissions and am running with admin priviledges
tried downloading the viewer manually and get the same error
any ideas on how to move forward ?
i see somebody else had exactly the same problem 6 weeks ago but the thread ended unresolved

ok a FYI
visited Windows Update
installed the service pack for NET 1+2.0+3.0 framework, rebooted and the error went away
seems the .NET version BE 12.5 installs is too old and buggy out the box

Could you copy and paste the following logs:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users.WINDOWS\Application Data\Symantec\Backup Exec\Logs\MSRptViewer_Install.log

thanks DEV T but installing the latest NEt service packs cured the problem, my error log was exactly the same as the one posted in the thread i linked
seems if you try to install BE on 2k3 which is uptodate except for the .NET SP you get the problem i listed
