Hi,

I got the following error on BE 12.5.

e00002f1 - Cannot back up the binaries that are associated with the selected Exchange databases. Review the Exchange configuration. Until you fix any errors, edit the backup job, uncheck the GRT option, and then run the job again.
For additional information regarding this error refer to link V-79-57344-753

I cannot find info what this exactly means and the link to V79-57344-753 cannot be found.

Anyone solved this?

ps. Unchecking the GRT option did not fix it.

Setup: Win2003R2, Exchange 2007SP2, BE12.5

Regards,

Ase

I have installed MAPI CDO and then created a new backup job and it still fails.

This is becoming very fustrating.

Is there anyway of fixing this?

Hi All,

I also encounter the same problem but I figure out the problem ultimately!!!

Pls refer to the following URL under "Resolution" section.

http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/317809.htm

It clearly states that BE 12.5 doesn't support 32 bit Exchange 2007. I install BE 12.5 in my 32bit testing environment and that's why I got this problem.

I have setup a 64bit production Exchange 2007 with the following configuration. I can successfully backup Active or even Passive nodes with GRT option!! So, it works.

1. Install remote agent on the active and passive nodes.
2. Install MAPI and CDO tools on active and passive nodes.
3. In Backup Exec, select the cluster node (not the active or passive nodes) in backup selections.
4. On Exchange 2007 SP1 or later servers, enable remote streaming backups by doing the following:

"A backup of Microsoft Exchange 2007 Service Pack 1 (SP1) database in a Cluster Continuous Replication (CCR) environment fails with the error "0xe000fe1f - The device cannot be found" "
