Error codes 0xe00084ed, 0xe00084ca makes my VXA-172 go offline

Dear all,

our backup job is reporting error codes 0xe00084ed, 0xe00084ca on Veritas 10d SP3 working with an Exabyte VXA-172 Tape + Exabyte VXA 1x10 1U autoloader SCSI (both new). All the tapes are new too. Firmware are all up-to date to latest versions available. Exabyte test tools report no errors on units.
When these errors occur, the autoloader unit goes offline and I have to reboot the server to make it work again or job report error 0xe000810b. Server is an HP Proliant ML370 and backup units are attached to integrated SCSI card (which is a RAID one but no RAID volume is configured because of no units at all are connected to this controller other than backup units. Os is Windows Server 2003 R2. Any idea?

Thank you and Best Regards, Danilo

The first thing you absolutely NEED to do is get it off of that RAID controller. You are wasting your time troubleshooting until you are on a non-RAID U160 (or better) card.
