Error creating new Backup-To-Disk Folder using IP address

I'm receiving an error when trying to create a new Backup-To-Disk Folder using the New Folder wizard. I can read and write to the destination folder using windows explorer. I entered the UNC to the destination folder "\\192.168.100.25\Backups" and I get an error stating invalid character. I've also setup a mapped drive to the location and browsing through the button and selecting it "X:\backups" gives me an error of path not found.

The destination is on a different subnet, is that a problem?

You cannot enter an IP adress for creating a backup-to-disk folder as it remains on the physical hard disk. Refer to the following documents for more information:
