We have just upgraded a new installation of Backup Exec 11d with the San Storage Option. We need to do this because we are backing up to VTL then Duplicating to Tape.
The first Job I've set up when is backing up Novell User servers. When run it reports the following error:
e0008881d - The job could not be delegated to the destination managed media server. The managed media server may not be online, or there may be a communications failure.
After playing around with the selection list, I found that if I reduced the list to less than 33 total volumes selected for one sever to be backed up the job ran! Select any more and it came up with the error again!
I then tried backing up more than one server and found the following:
No. of servers No. of volumes
2 32
4 16
5 15
Any more selected volumes and the backup would report the same error.
I can't think of anything to do and am about to try rebuilding the backup servers, installing the sam storage option at the same time rather that adding it after. But I thought I would see if anyone else has had this error, or had any ideas to try??
