Error message: SAN Shared Storage Option is no longer licensed in this upgrade.

Hi

i try to upgrade Backup Exec 12 to 2010R2.

At version 12 we have SAN Shared Storage Option installed. I uninstall it before upgrade because we don't need it anymore. But still we get error message during upgrade process after entering license numbers.

I find kb article: http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH125025

Try to rename C:\Windows\installer\{C6A657A8-2BC8-411D-BDC2-641D752AF46A}\BEInstParams.prm to *.old, but still get error.

Any other workarounds? Should I install first trial version, after that uninstall SSO and activate product? Does this success because we have upgrade license numbers?

Rgds, Jyrki

Or try to install and activate the product and after that uninstall SSO.

Hi,

so you mean, install trial version, then activate it? After activate uninstall trial SSO?

During upgrade, at installation wizard, I cannot enter serial numbers, i get that error.

After error you can continue the upgrade?

What is the impact instead of upgrading to do a fresh installation?

if I remove serials numbers during wizard, setup continues like trial setup.

Is this trial setup full upgrade?

Fresh installation means lot of extra work. Catlogs import and so on.
