Error v-79-40960-37912

Hi.  Backup Exec 15 is getting error "v-79-40960-37912 - Database X is offline, loading, or in the standby state" when running transaction log backup on 2 of 6 SQL databases on one server.  The databases are not offline.  The full backups work fine.  Only the transaction log backups fail, and on just those two.  The others work fine.

Have you recently restored any of these databases? They can still be in a loading state until the restore process is done. I believe you can look at the DBs in SQL server and they will be grey if they are in a standby/read-only state.

Thanks for answering.  No, they're not in standby or anything.  They're being used.

Full backups and differential backups work, but log backups fail.

After a good database backup, use dbcc to truncate the log and then shrink it.  Try the log backup after the next database backup.

Didn't work.  Database ran full backup overnight, successfully.  I ran the truncate and shrinkfile and tried the log backup.  Got the same message.

After a full backup, change the recovery mode to simple, delete the .ldf file and then change the recovery mode to full.  Try again.
