Error when backing up DFSR

DCMA
Level 2

I have 2 Win 2008 R2 fileserver that setup with DFSR. There are 3 replicated folders setup on on Replication group.
I have a full backup scheduled to run over the weekend to backup the data onto a tape.

For the past month or so this back has been failing with:

Backup- \\FS1.ldn.local\Shadow?Copy?Components
V-79-57344-65233 - Writer Name: Distributed File System Replication, Writer ID: {2707761B-2324-473D-...
V-79-57344-65233 - A failure occurred querying the Writer status.
Directory \\FS1.ldn.local\Shadow?Copy?Components\User?Data\Distributed File System Replication\DfsrR...
None of the files or subdirectories contained within will be backed up.
V-79-57344-65233 - Writer Name: Distributed File System Replication, Writer ID: {2707761B-2324-473D-...
V-79-57344-65233 - A failure occurred querying the Writer status.
Directory \\FS1.ldn.local\Shadow?Copy?Components\User?Data\Distributed File System Replication\DfsrR...
None of the files or subdirectories contained within will be backed up.

Sometimes it backs up one or two of the replicated folders but at least one of the folders do not backup and gets failed.
When I run the backup during the week everything runs ok.

I also get the following errors within the event viewer

What does vssadmin list writers show on the server just after you hace seen thse errors - is the DFSR writer in a stable state or some other condition?

The writers all show no errors. but that is some time after the backup stops. The file sevrer gets backed up over the weekend and it stops randomly on any of the DFSR folders. There are 3 it backs up. It randomly fails on any of those 3 fiolders.

When I manually run the back on Monday it works fine.
