Exchange 2007 Continous Backups

I have a few questions about Backup Exec 12 and Exchange continuous backups.  I know the continuous backup needs to run to a backup-to-disk folder, but how/when does it get committed to tape?  We’d need to go to tape weekly...How does that work?  Does a separate backup need to be made, or can the software make a “synthetic” full backup from the cont. backup set and push it to tape?

My understanding is that depending on where you set the recurrence of the job, it will create snapshots at that time and then those snapshots could be moved to tape.  Is this correct, or could someone please explain in detail?  Thanks!

Create a duplicate job and backup the folder you back Exchange up to as a B2Tape. Two options I see are to run it after each full backup for a restore point, or before each full backup create a copy to backup all the transaction logs and full backup sets.
