Exchange 2007 SP1 -> no GRA Backup -> Error: Agent does not support restore of single Objects

Hi Folks,

we have a complete new installation with Exchange 2007 SP1 German on Windows Server 2003R2 64bit German (installed without Exchange 2003 compatibility), fully patched, besides that installed only mapi and cdo Version 7974.

Backup Server with Backup Exec 11 SP2 fully patched on Windows Server 2003R2 64bit with Exchange 2007 Manager. Also running CPS11, but not in use for Exchange.

Backing up the Information Store is possible, but GRA Restore is no possible, Error in Log: Agent does not support restore of single Objects.

I also tried it with a second new installed Exchange 2007 and also with Backupexec 12, always the same result, no GRA backups possible.

Any Idea how to fix that?

We have severall working GRA Backups on EX2007SP1, but these servers are all updated from pre SP1 and all have Exchange 2003 compatibility, could this be the reason?

We found a temporary solution, the problem is not at the exchange server, it is the system of the BE Server, if you use a Windows Server 2003 32bit instead of the 64bit Edition GRT Backups work fine -> so symantec we need your help!!!
