I am running a continuous backup of our exchange database but need to do a nightly backup to tape as well. I had setup a policy that ran the exchange backup and then duplicated the backup to the tape drive. The exchange backup runs fine but when running the duplicate job, it runs for a while (copying maybe a gig of data to the tape) and then fails with the following error:
Exchange Backup-Exchange Policy 2-Duplicate Backup Sets Template 0004 -- The job failed with the following error: The Backup Exec job engine system service is not responding.
In addition, the backupexec service stops and must be restarted manually.
However, when I run a normal backup to tape, I have no problems. Any ideas? Or has anyone else had success doing continuous backup of exchange with nightly backups to tape - if so, how?
