Exchange Catalog Job Failure - 0xe00002f7 Cannot Extract Mailbox - VFF Open Failure

Using BE 2014 and its driving me nuts. 

One of the Exchange Incremental Backup keeps failing! It has been fine for a while. Other databases on the same server dont seem to return this error. 

Completed status: Failed
Final error: 0xe00002f7 - Cannot extract mailbox messages from the Exchange backup. Review the job log for more information.
Final error category: Resource Errors

Catalog- \\MAIL01.X.ORG\Microsoft Information Store\X Mailstore
V-79-57344-759 - Unable to complete the operation for the following reason: VFF Open Failure. This can be caused by low memory or disk resources. 

I tried these and it did not help. Also restarted all BE Services.

In addition to the reg keys which you created earlier, create this one as well on the BE media server and restart the BE services -

Key : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\VirtFile
Value: VFF Extended Timeout
Type: DWORD
Set value (Decimal) to 600.

Did you try pushing out the remote agent again to the Exchange server and rebooting it?

I noticed that you tagged the discussion with ADBO.  Are you trying to backup Exchange with the off-host backup option?  If so, have you tried turning off the option?

 

If your problem is urgent, do log a support case with Veritas and talk to an engineer.  This is a user-supported forum and nobody is obligated to answer any questions.

Do ensure AOFO isn't enabled for the Exchange backups.

Secondly, are you backing up to disk or tape ?

Hi,

 

is the backup job itself a DAG backup?

Also, is the backup itself going to Deduplication storage?

Its not a DAG backup, also not going to dedupe storage. Just straight to disk. 

AOFO is disabled. On the same exchange server, other databases backup just fine. 

Can't figure out what exactly is causing this. Any other ideas?
