Exchange failed to return any log files

Hi All,

Recently our backups started failing due to the following error message:

0xe0008497 - Incremental and differential backups are not possible because Microsoft Exchange is configured for circular logging.
Final error category: Resource Errors

So we disabled circular logging and restarted the services. We have now for the last 3 days got the following different error message:

0xe000030c - Exchange failed to return any log files when backing up the database.
Final error category: Resource Errors

Has anyone seen this before or knows of how to resolve it, there doesn't seem to be any other similar threads and no support docs from symantec on this issue.

Hi,

Try running a backup with NTBACKUP and check whether the backup job runs successfully.

This problem is caused by a setting in the job.
You do not want to have selected Incremental or Differential backup of Exchange logs since they do not exist.
