Extracting an Information Store Data Backup for Legal Discovery

I have had a request to produce -- in response  to a legal discovery request -- our Exchange Server Backup (we have a single Exchange 2003 server) for particular day perform by our Backup Exec v12.5 server.

I would like to produce a copy of the Information Store without producing the other data that happens to be on that days backup tape (LTO3).

The Exchange restore process will not let me "re-direct" the restore elsewhere. Is there another way I might be able provide this Information Store backup without providing the entire tape?

Thanks.

Perform a duplicate backup of the information store backup set to another tape or another backup to disk folder and you can use the disk for legal discovery.

Check following document and follow first duplicate option, to duplicate existing sets:

Please mark it a solution, if this is useful.

This would seem to be the solution but so far after several attemps to perform a Duplicate Backup job -- a couple with a tape as a target and couple jobs with a disk device backup  -- all hang at the "Loading Media" state. I have let each run approximately 30 - 60 minutes with no data being processed.

I have reviewed that article DOC ID 275194 that describes this situation but have as yet to perform a successful Duplicate Backup job.  The Source and Destination seem to be correct but still will not run.

If   you have enough disk space to mount a second copy of the Information  Store, define a Recovery Storage Group and restore to that
