Failed to Register: pvcalandar.ocx during upgrade from 10-->11d

I am getting the exact same message as Mr Lemus from a 12/18 post...During the install, near the end, this one file has a problem and the whole installation is backed out. I'd be happy to just register the file manually, but, Poof! it's gone.

I've had to jump thru hoops to get past the 8.3 file name limitation in the registry, re-naming the msxml.msi to msxml4_sp2.msi, and now the error registering pvcalandar.ocx!

I have 200 servers to upgrade from ver 10 and was hoping for an easy path with the cloned install.

So close, yet so far away.....

Typically, these types of registration problems don't have a single solution. Sometimes its directory permissions, sometimes its registry permissions, sometimes mis-registration of the DLL by another program, etc. Your best bet to troubleshoot it on your own would be use regmon & filemon from Microsoft (formerly sysinternals).
