The file server has the operating system disk and the files. In the selection it is not possible to choose only one, is it?

Is it recommended to take a snapshot of a disk of this size?

One solution would be to create an agent-based backup, and create two JOBs: one job only for the files and one for the operating system, for a DR. What do you think?

A: Yes, it is absolutely fine.

What would be the recommended maximum size to take a snapshot?
A: Creating snapshot in VMware creates a child disk. Following article provide more details on space requirements :

A: There is no need to create two jobs if individual files and folders GRT option is enabled on VMware backup. Same backup set can be used for DR as well as file and folder recovery. Following article provides more details : https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.000109161
