Hi!
We have moved our BE Server to another machine and connected HP Tape Library. May we know what is the first step we should perform to let the new server recognize the Tapes as it is showing "Unknown Media" "0 Bytes Free"?
Thanks.

...the issue lies between the hardware and Windows. Sort that out so that Windows detects it correctly, and BE should follow suit.
Thanks!

Hi,
Make sure that you have the Symantec drivers installed for the tape drive, and that the medium changer shows Unknown Medium Changer in Device Manager.
Have you tried an Inventory and a Catalog?
Thanks!

In addition to checking the drivers, you must ensure that both the tape library and tape drive are functioning correctly in the Windows Device Manager. Only if they are functioning correctly, then they can be used by BE. Otherwise, you may need to contact your tape library/drive vendor to get the devices functioning correctly in Windows.

What is the exact type of library you have connected and to what kind of controller is it connected ?
During boot of the server, are the library and tape recognized by the controller ?

HP Product Bulletin shows that BL538A is supported on that SA controller...just verify that your setup is supported.
Thanks!
