GRAYED OUT ITEMS IN DEVICES PANE

ON the devices pane, which is on the far left, most of the items are now grayed out. I do not have access to delete, rename under the general tab, I cannot pause or enable under teh DEVICE TASKS, Under MEDIA TASKS, I cannot EJECT MEDIA, RETNEIONS MEDIA, FORMAT MEDIA selections are grayed out.

Why did this occur? What can I do to correct this error. This is a critical items

Hello,

The reason those items are grayed out is dependant on what option you have selected on the right side of the devices page. When you select a tape drive, certain options become available, and others are grayed out. When you select a tape, the options available changes.

It isn't really an error per say, but Backup Exec is smart enough to select the valid options for what is selected.

The items are recently grayed out. 48 hours ago, everything was functional.

Tell me more. We could be onto something here

What happens when you select your tape drive or if you select the media in the drive? Do the options become active on the left side under devices?

In order to isolate the issue, perform the following:

- Please install the latest drivers from the following link:

Assuming the solution provided is correct. Also, there is no response from the customer within 2 days from the last reply by Veritas
