Hi,
We currently have the following configuration, and are experiencing GRT restore issues:
1 x Hyper V host (running 2008 std with just the Hyper V role)
1 x Virtual SBS 2011 Server
Backup Exec 2012 (SP2) running on the Hyper V host.
For the most part, the backup works fine, but we need to have the host on a workgroup and not joined to the domain (for both licensing and functionality purposes). The issue is, for the Exchange GRT backup, we need to manually specify the domain credentials. This isn't a problem, and it seems to backup fine, but then states that we will be unable to restore GRT backups as the backup host isn't part of the domain.
Is there a workaround for this without having to join the host to the domain? It isn't good practise to join the host to a virtual SBS Server running on itself, so need a solution to this.
Thanks,
Luke

If you are just running a single VM, why don't you forget about Hyper-V and load the SBS on the physical machine.
Alternatively, create a DC for the host alone and then establish trust between the host domain and the VM domain.
