The above is a glossary of acronyms/terms used in this forum  This would be useful for users who are new to this forum.  It is by no means comprehesive.  If you have something which you feel should be included in the glossary, please post it below.

CAS might need a warning or a second entry as it is also used against an Exchange environment as a "Client Access Server" so depends a little on context of the thread.

Oh and

DSF = DeDuplication Storage Folder

Not sure how widely used this is yet though ;)

BTW a glossary is a good idea.

Good read!!

BTW,

RADA : Remote agent for direct access is a term relivent to the dedupliation option, remote servers with remote agent of BE 2010 installed now has the capability to do deduplication aka client side deduplication if enabled it can dump the data directly to the :

> Deduplication storage on the media server or

> Open storage device eg Datadomain where the deduplication happens on the hardware device bypassing the media server

Condition : The job with client side deduplication only 1 server can be backed up, and it has to be added in the devices on the media server by running the configure device assistant

Hi,

Just a glossary...if anybody needs to know what it means I guess they can go check up in the Admin Guide.

This was done so that people could come here and check what the acronyms being used in the BE forum meant...

Laters!
