Hello Every one .

We have one Exchange Server  2007 in our   Network  we use Symantec Exec 2012  i   take  Full backup and also incremental backup for my Exchange Server   daily  my question if    our HP Server  G5 Hardware  Failure  or  Disaster occur. Can i restore my Exchange Server 2007 to   other new  Dell Server   machine .

Any suggestion .,

Hi,

There should be no problem doing this. If you want to restore to dissimilar hardware you MIGHT also want to look at SYmantec System Recover Server Edition. 

But BE 2012 will allow you to restore applications and Windows to another server, although you might have to reinstall drivers etc. if you move between vendor servers.

BE 2012 has SDR which will allow you to recover your server to dissimiliar hardware.  For more details, read the SDR chapter in the Admin Guide which can be found in the BE installation directory.

Also, if you have a VMware/Hyper-V host, you can convert your Exchange server backups to a VM on these hypervisor hosts.
