I'm trying to configure Backup Exec in 2014 to backup directly from my Oracle based on the Oracle Database version 10g Release 10.2.0.1.0, installed on Ubuntu 10.10, but is giving an error in the Agent Utility configuration as prints below:
I installed the RALUS on my Linux server, applied the SP2 and set the RALUS as follows:
In my routine Backup Exec 2014 set up to connect to Oracle and I can list my Oracle base, as follows:
When I run the backup routine, the error below, arguing that the Agent Utility is not properly configured:

You do not configure the remote agent on the media server because the Oracle instance is not on the media server.
I am just guessing, but could the problem be the whitespaces after dev?

To backup Oracle DBs, configuration on the Oracle Server and the BE server both are required.
Your screenshots do not show any configuration done on the BE server.
Please follow this KB article for the steps on how to do so - https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.000075846

The problem is precisely this, see the screenshot that when I try to set on my Backup Exec server error "Invalid Oracle SID name". After that mistake, I do not know what to do to try to solve.
Tks!!

The Remote Agent Utility is configured on the remote Oracle server. This is NOT configured on the BE server.
On the BE server, you have to set the authentication credentials which is set from BE button - Configuration & Settings - Backup Exec Settings - Oracle.
Please follow the below KB articles -

@pkh - Nopes, I never mentioned that. This is verbatim from my first comment -

Your screenshots do not show any configuration done on the BE server.
I mentioned configuration on the BE media server is required (which is still valid), but no where do I mention that the Remote Agent utility is to be configured on the media server. Thanks.

Hi VJware,
See the RALUS settings, it's ok, right?
The user 'root' and 'oracle' already in the 'beoper' group.
I configured the 'oracle' user authentication.
In the Backup Exec server of the same error as before.
Tks!
