Hello,
Our customer has asked us to check if what they have licensed corresponds with what they have installed;
Would SYMC PROTECTION SUITE ENTERPRISE EDITION 3.0 PER USER RENEWAL BASIC 12 MONTHS (licensed to year end)
correspond to what we see installed on pcs and servers as Symantec Endpoint Protection 11, 12, and Symantec Endpoint Protection Mgr
They also have SYMC PROTECTION SUITE ENTERPRISE EDITION 3.0 PER USER BNDL INITIAL BASIC 12 MONTHS
What does that also entitle them to deploy? Does it cover Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange 6 (which the website says is now purchased as part of the Protection Suite Enterprise Edition?)
They have licenses for SYMC BACKUP EXEC SYSTEM RECOVERY DESKTOP FOR SYMC PROTECTION SUITE ENTERPRISE EDITION 3.0 I/O STD LIC
What does that entitle them to? What products can they deploy?
Does it cover Backup Exec 2010 R3 & Backup Exec Remote Agent for Windows Systems 11 & Windows Servers 12?
Many thanks in advance!

SYMC PROTECTION SUITE ENTERPRISE EDITION 3.0 contains (or atleast used to contain) the following ~
Endpoint Security
Mobile AntiVirus for Windows Mobile
AntiVirus for Macintosh
AntiVirus Corporate Edition for Linux
Endpoint Protection
Symantec Network Access Control Self Enforcement
Messaging Security
Symantec Brightmail Gateway
Symantec Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange
Symantec Mail Security for Domino
Symantec Web Gateway
Symantec Premium AntiSpam
Backup and Recovery
Symantec Backup Exec System Recovery Desktop Edition
BASIC 12 MONTHS refers to a maintenance support contract of the Basic level & valid for 12 months.
And yes, as suggested above, would be good to contact the licensing folks for more detailed info.

Just to Clarify Symantec System Recovery iss NOT the same product as Backup Exec and rather confusingly did briefly use the words "Backup Exec" as part of the product name.
Basic History of the product itself is:
Symantec Live State Recovery (LSR)
Backup Exec System Recover (BESR)
Symantec System Recovery (SSR) - Current version = SSR 2013
Is also has a separate forum located here:
As you asked about licenesing the advice already given by others applies - this is just some background info that you need to be aware of.

Thanks everyone - I'll investigate further and will check out the licensing help.
