Help restoring backups from Backup Exec 2010

We have a server running 2008 and Backup Exec 2010. This server has 2 RD1000 drives which looks to be regular SATA drives. These drives have multiple .BKF files within them.

I am unable to find a way to restore any data in these backups. This server was wiped, so Server 2008 and Backup Exec 2010 were reinstalled.

I have tried to Google resolutions and mainly come back with inventory/cataloggin results, but have had no luck trying any of them.

If anyone can help that would be great.

Try below steps...

1) Create a Backup To Disk (B2D) folder within BE console.

2) Map the B2D folder to the path where the .bkf files are residing.

3) Perform inventory on the B2D folder

4) Run a catalog job on the B2D folder.

5) Once the catalog job is done open the restore window and check if you are able to view contents

of the .bkf files.

What happens when you try to run a restore job or a catalog and inventory?  What error occurs?

I get e0000900 error.

This is the error:

e0000900 - The requested media is not listed in the media index and could not be mounted. To add the media's catalog information to the disk-based catalogs, run an inventory operation on the media and resubmit the Catalog operation.
For additional information regarding this error refer to link V-79-57344-2304

Amo, i am able to make a b2d folder and run an inventory, but the error above is what i get when trying to catalog.

Refer to the following documents to deselect  "Use Storage Media Based Catalogs" http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH45473 and refer to  http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH44676

What is the purpose of this procedure?  Why can't the user just inventory and catalog his disks?

I have tried these links but have gotten nowhere. If i try to restore one of the BKF files, it gives me a catalog error even though I catalog it. Also, the file sizes

The backups were set using B2D.

Imosla, I have tried the instructions in that article also and have no luck. I did manage to get 2 of the .BKF files to show up in the restore tab from the earlier articles, but that is 2 out of 96.
