Help to implement Symantec Backup Exec

Hi,

I'm new in Symantec so I need some tips/best pratices to implement Symantec Backup Exec.

My ideia is create three types of backup to folder, Daily, Weekly and Monthly. Daily will use differential backup, and weekly and monthly will use Full Backup. These are easy to implement.
The problem is with Tapes in Robotic Libraries, because I need to define tapes for each type of Backup, for example, Tape 1 and Tape 2 for Daily bk, Tape 3 and 4 for Weekly bk and Tape 5 and 6 for Monthly bk.

I read something about reserve slots for different types of backups. Can you give please some tips?

Regards,
Bruno Trindade

You may use partitions in robotic library and target the job to partitions instead of the library. Check admin guide for more information on partitioning of robotic library.

Thanks
