Full backup of media server will be having catalogs also...

Or can go for copying BEDB also...

Take a full backup of existing BE media server.

Install the Same OS and Patches in the new server also.

Attach secondary storage devices. (Tape Library/ Drive).

Install BE in new server.

Install the license keys.

Restore BE database from the full backup tape of old media server.

By doing this you will get all your old media server configuration into new one.

You'd probably want to copy the catalogs over too, to save having to recatalog everything.

For future reference, a FULL backup of the server wouldn't be needed. Just the Data/Catalogs folders, and maybe the System State.

If you really wanted too, you could look at backing up the BE installation directory.

Backing up the full server would just add time to a really simple process...
