How to Remove NT-Compression-Flag during Restore ?

Hi,

I have the Problem, that I have to restore a lot of data (~1,4 TB) which has been compressed via NTFS-Compression. I want to restore and remove (only) the Compression Flag during Restore while retaining all other (especially security related) Flags ?

Is this even possible ?

If I remove the Flag afterwards, this takes about twice as long as the restore itself.

Regards,

inti

Hi,

No it isn't. If the data was compressed during the backup (or even backed up as compressed), that's how it will be restored. No way to set any sort of flag in BE.

Thanks!

Well, ok I already had a fear that this is the case.

Thanks or the Hint.
