How to Transfer Backup Job/Configuration From Version 12.5 to Version 2012

UBPCadmin
Not applicable

Hi,

Recently I have upgrade from Symantec Backup Exec Version 12.0 to 12.5 to Version 2012.

Previously C: is install with Symantec Backup Exec 12.0. I had change path to another drive for my upgrading version.

I had backup my data and catalog for my backup exec.

In the migration part does it migrate to data and catalog together?

Any idea on how to put my data and catalog to new version of backup exec 2012?

Recently I have upgrade from Symantec Backup Exec Version 12.0 to 12.5 to Version 2012.

If you have performed inplace upgrade than the data & catalogs must be upgraded too.

EDIT

Below article explains how to migrate database.

http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH50537

Note:  BE12.5 and above database can be migrated to BE2012, if you have

backup of DATA & CATALOGS from BE12.0 than the migration will not work.

You can use the BEmig tool to manually migrate the database if the automatic migration failed during the upgrade.

Please see this technote for a detailed instruction on how:

...if your upgrade succeeded, there would be no need for you to automate anything. The upgrade would have carried all your information across during the upgrade process...
