How to automatically run a backup job after another backup job finishes?

Hi All,

I have 4 Backup to tape jobs of various sizes. What I would like to do is start Job1 then when this finishes start Job2, then 3 and so on....

What is the best way to achieve this? I tried adding a post command to Job1 but that didn't appear to work.

set the start time of all your jobs with a small interval (eg 5 min), if you have only one tape drive.

This will result in your first job running and all other jobs queued, when your first job is finished the second one will start, and this until all jobs are finished. Make sure you didn'y select "eject tape after job completes", otherwise your next job will result in waiting for a tape.

you can also try to play with the priorities to have them started in your order, but this is limited as there are only 3 different priorities

You can use BEMCLI in the post-command to start the next job.
