How to keep the records from BE8 in Win2000 when formatting&installning BE

I have now Windows 2000 and Backup Exec 8.6 and going to format the harddisk
and install Backup Exec 10.

I want to keep the records from 8 for ex Activity Monitor and get into BE10.
Just to be able to use the old tapes from 8.

Please explain how to do this.

I did not mention that I am going to install Windows XP instead of Windows 2000
