How to restore LUNs on Netapp filer

Hi everybody,

we have a customer working with BE12.5 and the NDMP option.

Since we can't restore files directly to the root folder on NetApp volumes, we need to restore the LUN file to a subfolder, e.g. /restore

What is to be done to let the Netapp recognize the restored LUN file as LUN? Simply moving the file to the root didn't help.

Thanks in advance,

Matthias

As I found out, there's a tech doc from NetApp what to do in this case.

This thread can be closed, although it would be nice if restoring luns could be done more easy :)

What is the solution?

Posting the link at least would be helpful.

A colleague sent me a PDF, I had to search for the KB article :)

Here we go:

https://now.netapp.com/Knowledgebase/solutionarea.asp?id=kb37566

You'll need an account at NetApp's support site.

Happy new year

You might want to read all the details on this

Although be aware that the Hotfix is probably nopw bundled into the latest servcie pack - so it is just the regsitry change that might be needed,
