Hi guys!

I need your help.

I have here 2 Backup Exec 2012 servers:

-BE1 - MBES

-BE2 - CAS (deleted)

Since the BE2 CAS already deleted,

I want to set the local MBES as CAS but I unable to untick MBES and tick the CASO

do you know  how to set a BE server from MBES to CAS?

Thanks!

Hi Jaime,

I used to have to do this regularily with slow connections...editing out the CASO server from an MMS that is.

First, do a backup of your registry. I then found that deleting the key below made sure that the MMS was "removed" from the CASO server:

* regedit.exe --> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE --> SOFTWARE --> Symantec --> Backup Exec
* Look for a key called Database Server.
* Change the server name in there from your CASO to the MMS.
* Restart the MMS services thereafter.

This points the MMS to itself again. Once done, run the wizard to promote the MMS to a CAS server.

Thanks!

I would recommend to try this KB which would make your MBES standalone post which you can make it a CASO server - http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH202149
