How to verify or get compression ratio in 10.1d

We are getting little or no compression with an IBM LTO drive. I understand the ratio will vary. I understand the hardware/software issue. What i haven't found is how to see if ANY compression is taking place.

With Hardware Compression, there is no way, since it takes place after the data leaves BackupExec

if you are using Software Compression, each job step summary should list the compression of that step.
