The link in the first error says to check for DCOM and such events in the log and correct those or install the agent on the VM. We would like to avoid doing that if possible. How do we get a good backup of the host server with BE15?

Can you provide the link which support your belief that GRT is only possible without installing the remote agents in the VM.

Why don't you want to install the BE remote agent in the VM's?  Without the remote agent, you would not be able to do GRT restores from your VM backups.  If you did not install remote agents in the VM's, then turn off GRT in your job.

Well, would rather install 5 agents verses 20 or so agents and maintain 20 or so backups. I also want a backup of the actual vhdx's. I had the understanding that GRT was only possible if the agent was NOT installed in the VM. Can you provide a link to your understanding?
