I have several Virtual Clients and Servers running a mix of Windows 10, Server 2016 and Server 2019.
I have been backing this up each day successfully for some time now, but am wondering if I have been backing them up correctly. They are all managed within a Hyper-V Cluster across 2 hosts.
In the actual backup job I have selected:
HyperVCluster.xxxxxx.local C:\ClusterStorage\Volume1\Virtual Machines\ followed by the name of each VM within its own folder, i.e. C:\ClusterStorage\Volume1\Virtual Machines\SERVER1\ (containing snapshot and virtual machines folder)
They are also listed under:
HyperVCluster.xxxxxx.local Microsoft Hyper-V HA Virtual Machine\ each as their own names, i.e. Microsoft Hyper-V HA Virtual Machine\SERVER1 (SERVER1.xxxxxx.local)
Should both be backed up like this? I keep thinking that I am backing each system up twice, which is pretty redundant.
Any advice appreciated.

You should only backup VM rather than backup the directory containing the VM...

To add more confusion and possibly making myself look totally noob,
On the Hyper-V Hosts, the ClusterStorage folder C:\ClusterStorage is also ticked i.e.
HYPERVHOST1.xxxxxxx.local C:\ClusterStorage\Volume1\Virtual Machines\ SERVER1
Should I deselect this?
