I am backing up 5 Hyper-V machines with a total byte count of 239Gig. These are live backups. The VMs are not taken down. Most of the time this backup finishes in 2 hours. However in rare instances it takes a very long time. I have had it take up to 62 hours and one time it just never finished. It just got locked up. What could be causing this?
Backup was set to start at midnight and database maintenance in set for 4 AM. Since backup could take more than 4 hours, could this be a problem? Are you saing that maintenance of the database should not run during a backup window?
