I am running Backup !!D, I have a job running that is requesting another tape,
I am trying to import another tape, but Backup Exec is telling me that the Tape Device is not avaialbe.

Is there anyway to suspend the job, to import another tape....

If the library does not have a bar code reader, then it is necessary to inventory the tape. To create an auto-inventory job that will run after the import job completes, under Settings, click Options, and then select Auto-inventory after import is completed. Once this tape is imported into an available slot and an inventory has been performed, the restore will continue.

Hope this helps.

Have you looked at trying just that? Suspending the job, and importing the tape?
I've tried something similar, and have always had to cancel the running job.
I think what happens is that BE holds a lock on the device, and then keeps that lock. That's what prevents you from importing more media, and continuing the backup.
Another trick is simply to format your media before the job runs, so that when asked for it, you can put the next tape in.
