I set up a backup to disk from my BE server to another server on my network. I was able to map to the folder with no issues, and set it up to overwrite every day. I have read the other discussions and whitepages, but none of them addressed backing up to disk. I am running BE 2010 R2, on Windows 2003 server. Please help!

Hello
You can refer the following documents & see if it helps

What is the server that is hosting the B2D folder? Is it an ordinary server or a NAS or a SAN? When you create the B2D folder did you use the UNC name, rather than a mapped drive? A mapped drive will not work because BE runs as a batch job.

If the issue still persists, make sure that Backup Exec Device and Media service is running under domain account and not under Local System Account.
If that's not the case, can you create a test b2d folder on local disk and check if that works?

Hi,
I've yet seen this kind of issue. Try to use the IP address, not the FQDN of the network ressource.
For example, use \\192.168.0.10\myshare for the path to the B2D.

Fred.
